The Tucker Zone

The original ‘Tucker Zone’, which I released in 2017, is a ‘3D Sound’ experience - listeners put on headphones & close their eyes to indulge in a story in ultra realistic spatial audio. The story is formatted like a ‘twilight zone’ episode (my personal favorite TV Series) in which I take you deep into your own imagination. The experience gained a lot of traction on YouTube, and unforeseen by my initial release, put into motion an unprecedented consumer craving for narrative spatial audio experiences. ‘The Tucker Zone’ currently has 18 million views on YouTube, along with 250,000 reaction videos on TikTok, while the space for 3D Sound content (in general) is now growing exponentially. In the couple years since ‘The Tucker Zone’, companies like Apple, Playstation, & Sony have all announced some form of spatial audio integration. I recently created The Experience Zone, an experiential production house, to curate creative collaborations in this space specifically, while continuing to expand ‘The Tucker Zone’ as a personal artistic series (check below for summaries on each new iteration).

 

 

The Tucker Zone 2

I initially hesitated to create The Tucker Zone 2 (the first follow-up to the original, 2 years later). I didn’t want to create the same thing over & over - 3D Sound is only one medium of expression, and I have a big desire to explore them all. I eventually had to recognize the unique, rare opportunity provided by ‘The Tucker Zone’ & the attention it was receiving, so I channeled that hesitancy itself into part 2- taking on a more experimental approach & shifting the narrative from being inside the listener’s imagination to being inside MY imagination- conquering my desire to express the position I found myself in. Divided into 2 parts, the 2nd ‘Tucker Zone’ solidified Youtube as a platform for me to continue creating - I gained nearly 100,000 subscribers in the first 6 months after it’s release.

Playing on the idea of my own hesitancies to keep creating the same thing over and over, along with being overwhelming by the amount of ideas I have & directions I could go, the next ‘Tucker Zone’ included a brand new kind of interactive aspect- it allows listener’s to guide the story themselves as a ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ utilize their left and right thumbs. This interactive feature tied directly into everything about the narrativfe- from the theme of the story to the name (which was also an ‘easter egg’ alluding to an, at the time, forthcoming project of mine - My Life Number), as well as representing the large amount of content associated with the different paths you could choose to experience. I also made a significant improvement in the immersive audio quality (relative to the previous experiences) at this time.

 

 

The YOU Zone

My answer to the hesitancy of creating more 3D Sound Experiences became to add a unique, different aspect to every new ‘Tucker Zone’. At the time of release,‘The YOU Zone’ included an opportunity for listeners of the series to purchase a personalized 3D Sound Gift Message for their family, friends, or self - a way for me to gain resources as an alternative to a traditional merchandise product and (hopefully) provide something more deeply valuable.

 

 

The Tucker Zone 8D

‘The Tucker Zone 8D’ stemmed from a personal perspective journey of mine- an expression on the current state of human communication. As a multilingual experience, you can listen in 8 different languages- a literal representation of the communication theme- in the best spatial audio quality to date.
