~MyLifeNumber

Inspired to create a symbol that represented my fascination with the existential parallel of being so insignificant (just a number in the grand scheme of things) while simultaneously experiencing a life perspective completely unique to me, I created ~MyLifeNumber. The idea started when I attempted to calculate an estimate of ‘the number human I am to ever be born’. The video goes fully in-depth on the unique realizations I discovered through that impossible journey (The knowledge of that number being the impossible part - I mean, when does ‘human’ even start?), while collecting real historic population data (pulled from the United Nations & World Population Reference Bureau) to calculate a real estimate - a number which, while largely a philosophical experiment, ultimately became a symbol of those ideas for me. In an interactive effort to share that symbol, I created a website (utilizing that same data) where others could input their birthday & create an estimate of ‘the number human’ they are to ever be born - their own symbol which can be ‘claimed’ on the website, certifying that number - their ‘life number’ - as completely unique to them as their presence is in the world.
